The regular meeting of the Reedsville Board of Education was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Board President Andrew Maertz. Present: Board Members – John Ebert, Todd Cavanaugh, Jeff Deprez, Andrew Maertz, and Cory Kiekhaefer. Administrative Team Members – Mark Swanson, Tony Butturini (absent), Michael Nate, Tracie Wurm, Others: Kyle Meulemans, Angie Sanderfoot, Maggie Berkholtz.
Mr. Mark Swanson announced that proper legal notice of the meeting had been given.
Board President Andrew Maertz led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

I. Opening
A. Motion by Todd Cavanaugh, seconded by Jeff Deprez to amend the agenda as follows: Add Todd Cavanaugh report under Board Member, Strike #2 and #3 of B, and add a report for Director of Special Education. All ayes. Motion carried.

A. District Administrator
Mr. Mark Swanson reported as follows: 1. Working on budget process, increase of state aid. 2. Enrollment update – seems to be holding steady. 3. Head start update – can’t get enough students to keep running.

B. HS Principal
Mr. Tony Butturini reported as follows: 1. Evening of Excellence, May 16, went very well. 2. Graduation Friday, May 23 went well. Congratulations to all the seniors and best of luck. 3. Resume
for Social Studies position.

C. Elem/MS Principal
Mr. Michael Nate reported as follows: 1. Summer School Update – no swim class 2. Musical progress – Aug 8-9. 3. 4K enrollment. 4. School nurse. 5. End of school year report. 6. Box top collection. 7. Summer reading program. 8. Final edition of 3rd grade Connector. 9. K-4 math team, 10 Spring book fair.

D. School Psychologist/Supervisor of Special Education
Dr. Wurm reported as follows: 1. Angie Sanderfoot being introduced to the staff, facilities and equipment. 2. 14.66% in district with disabilities, mild to severe. 2. There was NO seclusion / restraints for 2013-2014.

E. Board Members
Todd Cavanaugh reported on the state FFA Convention. He was there to accept an award for Justin Schwahn and support of the Board and District in his endeavors. He was proud to be there and proud of our district. Mr. Cavanaugh also thanked Mr. Swanson and Tracie Wurm for their hugh contributions to our district.
Andrew Maertz commented on the CESA # 7 budget.

IV. Old Business
Discussion / Approval of Employee Handbook – Motion by Todd Cavanaugh, seconded by John Ebert to approve the Handbook as revised. Roll call vote – 4 ayes, 1 nay. Motion carried.

V. Consensus Agenda Items
A. Approval of the minutes from regular board meeting on May 19, 2014 and closed session.
B. Discussion / Action – Payment of Bills.
Motion by Jeff Deprez, seconded by Cory Kiekhaefer. All ayes. .Motion carried.

A. Discussion / Approval – Grades K-4 Mathematics Resource Adoption – Motion by Todd Cavanaugh, seconded by Cory Kiekhaefer to approved the mathematics program, with a letter to parents in each unit. All ayes.

Jeff Deprez.. All ayes. Motion carried.
