PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
We, the Board of Education, believe the purpose of the Reedsville Public School District is to provide education of the highest character for the residents of the district.
The school district must provide an educational program that will meet the widely varying needs of all children. The effectiveness of our
educational system depends on having each child ready to take his/her place in our democratic
society upon completion of their high school years. It is essential that the school develop an awareness of the complicated world in which the pupil lives.
The school district should strive to develop in the students a healthy attitude toward and an appreciation of the principles underlying physical well being and mental hygiene. To inculcate in the minds of each individual an
appreciation of the dignity of all useful and productive labor and to provide vocational training in the direction of making the student economically productive.
It is felt that the perpetuation of the principles of democracy can only be achieved by awakening in the youth an
appreciation of their social responsibilities, and developing within them their potential interests and abilities in order that they may assume their obligations to themselves and society.
