With the cold and flu season right around the corner and allergies heavily upon us, it can sometimes be tricky to know what is causing some of these symptoms. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is best to be cautious and extremely important for parents to be evaluating their child daily prior to sending to school.
Daily COVID Screening
Your student should stay home if they are symptomatic or have been tested for COVID-19 (while waiting for the results). Your student is considered symptomatic if they have one of symptoms marked with a (*) or two of the other symptoms above baseline for them.

Cough * - Fever or chills - Fatigue

Shortness of Breath or difficulty breathing * - Nausea or vomiting

New loss of taste or smell* - Diarrhea - Sore throat

Congestion or runny nose - Headache - Muscle aches or soreness
Each day before students get on the bus or are dropped off at school - please answer the following questions:

Has your student been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?

Has your student been experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, or a sore throat?

Has your student had a fever of 100.4? in the last 24 hours?

Has your student had any new onsets (ex: Loss of taste or smell?)

Has your student had unexplained muscle pains or chills?

Has your student experienced nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea in the past 24 hours?
If the answer is YES to any of these, please do not send your child to school. Contact your physician to see if they would like you to come in for COVID-19 testing.
**Per current Manitowoc County guidelines, when a student presents with or exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 while at school, the following steps will take place:

Student will be placed in a health isolation room. Parent/guardian will be notified and should arrive to pick up student as soon as possible.

Student will need to stay home until:
A: If cleared by an MD and provide documentation
B: Negative COVID test
C: After 10 days of symptom onset AND fever free for 24 hrs AND improvement of symptoms (if not tested)
