Our Philosophy
The Reedsville School District’s 4-year-old kindergarten program seeks to provide an inclusive setting in which all children will experience success. A combination of a well-organized environment in addition to staff and student directed activities will promote interest and skill acquisition in the adaptive, social, motor and cognitive areas. Through supportive interactions, our young students will become active and engaged learners, putting them firmly on the pathway to success.

4K Curriculum
Every child in the 4K program will participate in activities to promote growth in the following areas of development:
Readiness Skills
Phonemic awareness, counting, categorization, shape identification, sequencing and concepts of print will all be explored within the 4K curriculum
Motor Development
Children in 4K are given ample opportunity to practice coloring, cutting and manipulating small classroom toys and art materials. In addition, they will participate daily in gross motor activities to promote a variety of locomotor skills.
Adaptive
Throughout the school day, children will have many chances to practice adaptive skills such as hand washing, buttoning and zipping.
Social
Social responsibility will be promoted through the assignment of classroom jobs, turn taking experiences and group games.
Admission Requirements & Expectations
- Child must be four years of age by September 1st of the school year in which they start.
- Child must have updated immunizations and provide documentation thereof to school staff.
- Child must attend school regularly. If a child is sick his/her parent must notify the office by calling (920) 754-4341.
- Parents are expected to be actively involved in their child’s education.
Parent Participation
Reedsville 4K staff recognizes that parents are the most important influence and expert about the development of their young child. With this in mind, we realize that communication on a frequent basis is critical for each child to be a successful participant in the 4K program. Each child will have a daily take home folder to contain messages from school or home.
In addition to the above communications, you are encouraged to take advantage of the following opportunities for parent involvement and communication.
- Beginning of the year conferences.
- Parent-teacher conferences.
- Weekly activity bags
- End of year conferences.
- Classroom volunteering
- Participation in monthly mathematics & enrichment activities provided along with informational newsletters.

Is my child eligible for 4k?
4K is open to any student age four by September 1 of the school year in which they start.
Is there a fee for my child to attend 4K?
The 4-year-old kindergarten program is provided at no cost to you although school supplies and snack provisions will be required.
What is the schedule for 4K?
The 4-year-old kindergarten program runs Monday-Friday, full days.
Can my child ride the bus?
Busing is available upon request for any 4K children.
